PROFESSOR ALDO “Caveirinha” januario

5th DEGREE BLACK BELT - HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Professor Aldo “Caveirinha” Januário was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and began his Jiu-Jitsu journey at the age of 8. He soon realized that BJJ was his calling. Despite a very promising future in competition, Aldo chose to focus on his real passion: Teaching. His passion has led him to cultivate numerous champions, and he is still going strong.

At age 16, Aldo relocated to Belo Horizonte, Brazil and began his teaching journey as a purple belt. Professor Aldo received his Black Belt at the age of 20 under Carlos Gracie, Jr. and began teaching at his own academy in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Since then, he has been promoted to 5th degree Black Belt; a level reached by only a handful of Jiu Jitsu masters. He has promoted over 300 black belts of his own in several countries around the world.

Outside of his academies, Professor Aldo has created a social project in Brazil, empowering kids in poverty to learn the art of Jiu-Jitsu. He has been married for over 20 years to his wife Alexandra and has a daughter (Yasmin) and a granddaughter (Kiara).
